Landit?

Terms and Conditions

Version of 12 October 2026

These terms are the agreement between you and Landit. They explain what Landit is, what it is not, and how we use your information. They apply whenever you use Landit, with or without an account.

Please read them. If you do not agree with them, please do not use Landit.

Our Privacy notice explains in more detail how we handle personal information. It is part of these terms.

1. Who we are

Landit is run by a company whose name is to be confirmed before Landit opens to the public.

Registered address: to be confirmed before Landit opens to the public. Company number: to be confirmed before Landit opens to the public.

Email: to be confirmed before Landit opens to the public. In these terms, "we" and "us" mean Landit, and "you" means the person using it.

2. What Landit is

Landit is a search tool. It searches public information about money help, services, discounts and rights in the UK, and sorts it by what you tell us about your situation. It works like a search engine for people who are new to the UK.

Landit is not a government service, a charity, a law firm or a bank. We are not part of the organisations whose schemes we list, unless we say so.

We do not decide who gets anything. The organisation that runs each scheme decides. We do not apply for you, and we do not contact any organisation for you.

Landit is not immigration, legal or financial advice. We are not regulated to give advice about your case. Nothing on Landit, including the chat, is advice about your visa, your immigration status, your money or your legal position. For advice about your visa or status, speak to a regulated adviser: GOV.UK lists them at gov.uk/find-an-immigration-adviser. For legal or money advice, speak to a qualified adviser.

You never need Landit to apply for anything. You can always go to the official source yourself.

3. The information on Landit

We gather information from official and public sources and check it, but we cannot promise that it is complete, correct or up to date. Rules, rates and dates change, sometimes without warning. Some information on Landit may be partial, out of date or wrong.

Always check the official source before you apply or make a decision. We link to it every time.

Amounts show what a scheme may be worth if it is approved. A total is the potential value if every application is approved. It is not a promise that anything will be paid.

The chat answers automatically, using a computer model. Its answers can be wrong. Check anything important with the official source.

As far as the law allows, we are not responsible for loss caused by information that was wrong, out of date or incomplete, or by decisions you make based on it. Section 12 explains our responsibility in full.

4. Who can use Landit, and how

You must be 18 or over to use Landit.

Please give true information about yourself. Landit can only sort schemes by what you tell it.

Landit is for your own personal use. Do not copy our database, collect information from Landit with automated tools, try to get into parts of Landit you are not meant to reach, or use Landit to break the law.

5. Your account

You can look around without an account. When you save something, Landit makes a guest session for you. A guest session that is not used for 90 days is deleted, with everything in it.

An account keeps your answers so you can use them on any device. Keep your password private, and tell us if you think someone else has used your account.

You can download a copy of your information, delete your answers, or delete your whole account at any time in Settings.

6. The community

Community posts are personal experiences. They are not official advice, and they are not checked for accuracy.

When you post, do not share anything illegal, hateful, threatening or harassing, any scam, spam or advertising, or anyone's personal details. That includes your own phone number, address, and passport, visa or document numbers.

We check posts automatically before other people see them. We may hold or remove a post, or suspend an account, if it breaks these rules or the law.

You keep ownership of what you post. You allow us to store and show it on Landit, and to change its format so it displays well, for as long as it stays on Landit. If you delete a post, we remove it.

To report a post, or to complain about a decision we made about your post or account, contact us (section 16). We will look at it and reply.

7. Price and payment

Landit is free for first users. We will never charge you without your clear agreement first.

If we offer a paid subscription, before you pay we will show you: the price including VAT, what you get, how often you pay, how long it lasts, how it renews and how to cancel. Those details will then be part of these terms.

You will be able to cancel a subscription at any time, as easily as you started it. It stops at the end of the period you have already paid for.

When you start a paid subscription, you have 14 days to change your mind and get your money back (Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013). If you ask for the paid service to start within those 14 days and then cancel, we may keep a fair amount for the days you used.

If a subscription renews by itself, or a free trial turns into a paid one, we will remind you before it happens, so you can cancel in time. We will tell you at least 30 days before a price changes, and you can cancel before the new price applies.

If a paid service is faulty, you have the rights the Consumer Rights Act 2015 gives you.

8. How we use your information

We use your information to run Landit: to sort schemes for you, save your answers, answer you in the chat, keep the community safe, and keep Landit secure. The Privacy notice gives the details and the legal reason for each use.

By using Landit, you accept that we also use information about how you use Landit for marketing purposes. For example, we look at which schemes, pages and links people use most, to improve Landit and to promote it. We do this because it is in our legitimate interests (UK GDPR). You can object at any time, and we will stop unless the law allows us to continue.

We send you marketing emails only if you choose to get them. That choice is separate from these terms. You can stop them at any time, in Settings or with the link in each email.

We never use health information, such as pregnancy or disability, for marketing. We never ask you to upload your documents.

When you use the chat, what you type and the answers you have saved (never health details) are sent to Google's Gemini service to answer you. Google does not keep the conversation, and we keep the facts you share, not the conversation.

You have the right to see, correct and delete your information, to limit or object to how we use it, and to take a copy of it. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).

9. What we share

We do not sell your personal information. We do not share information that identifies you with other organisations for their own use.

Service providers handle information for us, under contract and only on our instructions: Supabase, which stores our data and runs sign-in, and Google, which runs the chat.

We may share information when the law requires it, for example because of a court order, or to protect someone from serious harm.

We may share or publish anonymous statistics that do not identify anyone. For example: how many people saved or applied to a kind of scheme, how many times people used a link to a provider, or how many people in a region use Landit. We combine figures so that no person can be identified, and we never publish a figure that comes from fewer than 10 people.

11. Changes to Landit and to these terms

Landit may change, and we may pause or stop parts of it. Where we can, we will tell you before a change that affects you.

When we change these terms, we will show you the new version. To keep using your account, you will need to agree to it. If you do not agree, you can download a copy of your information and delete your account. An account whose owner does not agree to the new terms may be closed and its information deleted.

Once an account is deleted, its information cannot be recovered. Download a copy first if you want to keep it. We are not responsible for information lost when an account is deleted.

12. Our responsibility to you

Nothing in these terms limits our responsibility for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law does not allow us to limit. Your legal rights as a consumer are not affected.

Landit is free, and it is provided as it is and when it is available. As far as the law allows, we are not responsible for: loss caused by information on Landit or on linked websites being wrong, out of date or incomplete; any decision an organisation makes about an application; loss of information, unless we failed to take reasonable care of it; loss that could not be expected when you started using Landit; or loss to a business, because Landit is for personal use.

If digital content we supply damages your device or other digital content because we did not use reasonable care and skill, we will repair the damage or pay you compensation.

If we are responsible for a loss in connection with a paid service, our total responsibility is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the loss, unless the law says otherwise.

13. Ending your use of Landit

You can stop using Landit and delete your account at any time in Settings.

We may suspend or close an account if its owner seriously or repeatedly breaks these terms, or if the law requires it. We will tell you why, unless the law does not allow us to.

When an account is deleted, its information is removed from Landit. Backup copies are deleted on our backup schedule. Anonymous statistics made before the deletion stay, because they do not identify anyone.

15. The law that applies

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. You can bring a claim in the courts of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you can also bring a claim in the courts where you live, and you keep the protection of the law there.

16. Contact and complaints

To ask a question, report a post or make a complaint, email us (the address is to be confirmed before Landit opens to the public). Please contact us first, so we can try to put things right.

About your personal information, you can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

Landit is not an immigration or legal adviser. We bring together information from different sources to make it easier to find. Information can change, so always check the original source. Community posts are personal experiences and are not official advice.
